Summer Makeup Routine

Summer usually means more sun, less makeup. Summer, really, relies on protective skin care more than it does on makeup. But since I can’t go to class looking like a zombie, I usually apply less makeup than I would on a non-summer day.

Collection: Red Lipstick

Dear friends and relatives (who are reading this), if you have absolutely no idea what to give me as a present, give me a red lipstick. In fact, if I can only try one product from each brand (particularly a luxury brand as a souvenir of sorts), it’ll be their loudest, reddest lipstick.

Review: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

I spend a lot of time in front of the computer. Work and leisure. But somehow, I just don’t manage to spend enough time on this blog, eh? It’s been almost a month since my last post! Truth is, I’m on a spending ban because I need shopping money for KL (I’m leaving in two weeks!)

And although I have a lot of pending reviews to do, it just doesn’t have the same pull as reviewing a shiny new toy.

Review: Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick (Fuchsia)

My signature look is subtle and never colorful. There is rarely any color on my eyelids except for a wash of neutral shadows. And today, I didn’t even bother with the winged eyeliner; I opted for the plain black line. There’s something about the rainy season that makes me super lazy to exert the same amount of effort on my face as I usually would.

Don’t get me wrong though, I’d never dream of skipping anything: moisturizer, concealer, foundation, powder, blush, eye primer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, curl eyelashes, mascara, eyebrows, lips.

So when I was in the elevator, I had to pause because there was a woman staring at me. I raised an eyebrow at her and vaguely wondered if there was something wrong with my face or my outfit (gray turtleneck, white jacket and black bootcut jeans) for that matter.

Then I remembered my lipstick. Yeah, it was probably that.

Today, I wore my Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick in Fuchsia. A very loud lip color to somewhat liven up my face (that suffers from Chronic Bitch Face, by the way).

Review: Revlon Strawberry Suede

I suffer from a mild (ahem) case of lipstick envy. Haha. Well, that’s something to be expected from a lipstick addict like myself. We all have our preferences, if some people collect eyeshadows, I collect lipsticks. I’m not the first one to do this, by the way.

Anyway, when my friend bought a bright red matte lipstick from Laura Mercier, I felt that need to get my own matte lipstick because I don’t have one (gasp). I’ve been looking for a pink/red lipstick with hints of orange in it. I’ve asked my cousin to buy me a few shades from MAC (vegas volt, crosswires, ravishing) because they’re not available locally.

Still, I need something to alternate my current MLBB (MAC Cosmo) with but with a bit more color and attitude to it. And I found it in this lipstick: Revlon Matte Lipstick in Strawberry Suede.
