Review: MAC Deeply Adored

I was fortunate enough to score a two lippies from the much coveted Marilyn Monroe collection at MAC. Knowing that it’s gonna be sold out as soon as the products are released at our local MAC counters, I just went with pre-ordering the lippies via Carefree Shopper (I usually get my LE items from here).

MAC Impassioned

Review: MAC Impassioned

Ever since I got MAC Party Parrot, I’ve discovered my fascination with red-pinks. PP is definitely one of my favorites; I receive compliments every time I use it. Sadly, it’s a limited edition color and I don’t have a backup tube so I don’t use it as often as I’d like, for the fear of finishing the product without a backup tube.

I really hope that MAC repromotes the shade. Imma buy 5 of those if/when they do.

For now, I try to acquire close dupes and one of them is MAC Impassioned. I bought this at MAC Pavillion Mall in KL for RM68 (Php 884). Uncanny resemblance to this, huh? Let’s see how it compares.

Review: MAC Party Parrot

When I want an item, I search high and low for it. MAC Party Parrot is one of those.

I first saw the swatch at Temptalia.com last year and I immediately fell in love with it. When the collection was launched in the US, I had to beg my cousin to secure one for me. Sadly, my begging fell on deaf ears and this shade was sold out after a day the collection was finally available to the public.

Selena came to the rescue. This arrived in the mail last Friday and I just had to give it a test run the very next day.

Review: MAC Violetta

When it comes to lipsticks, I’m the brave one. Maybe that’s because I’m not one for bright or colorful eyeshadows so I get my color from lipsticks. I haven’t gotten around to counting just how many I have by now, but I gravitate towards the brighter (and bolder) side of the spectrum. I’m no stranger to red, red-orange, orange, corals, fuchsia. I also have a few safe colors: MLBBs, nudes, pale pinks, etc.

And with my birthday fast approaching, I decided to get two shades that only daring people would wear: violet and bright, barbie-pink. In my previous post, I already found the latter (but I won’t reveal the shade until the end of the month).

I was browsing through ebay and found a familiar shade: MAC Violetta. This lipstick is part of the PRO line, though its claim to fame is that it became a part of the Venomous Villains collection under Maleficent’s line. Acquiring Toxic Tale (Evil Queen) from the same collection is, unfortunately, a tad unlikely so I thought of getting Violetta instead.

Review: Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick (Fuchsia)

My signature look is subtle and never colorful. There is rarely any color on my eyelids except for a wash of neutral shadows. And today, I didn’t even bother with the winged eyeliner; I opted for the plain black line. There’s something about the rainy season that makes me super lazy to exert the same amount of effort on my face as I usually would.

Don’t get me wrong though, I’d never dream of skipping anything: moisturizer, concealer, foundation, powder, blush, eye primer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, curl eyelashes, mascara, eyebrows, lips.

So when I was in the elevator, I had to pause because there was a woman staring at me. I raised an eyebrow at her and vaguely wondered if there was something wrong with my face or my outfit (gray turtleneck, white jacket and black bootcut jeans) for that matter.

Then I remembered my lipstick. Yeah, it was probably that.

Today, I wore my Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick in Fuchsia. A very loud lip color to somewhat liven up my face (that suffers from Chronic Bitch Face, by the way).
