Event: Pretty In PinkBox
I haven’t been to an event in FOREVER. I haven’t updated in forever either, but I’m sure you’re already tired of the apologies so I’ll just make sure to keep writing (for real, this time).
Anyhow, I do recall going to a PinkBox blogger event before but it wasn’t as grand and pretty as this one!
(Warning: image heavy post)
Took place in Zarzuela at the newly constructed wing of EDSA Shangri-la Plaza Mall. Zarzuela’s menu consists of well-loved Filipino dishes. Sadly, I was already late so I didn’t bother taking photos of the near empty buffet table.
The event took place outside of the actual restaurant because it was packed with bloggers and online media people! Pinkbox had set up a registration area and photo booth. The photo booth, in fact, is one of Pinkbox’s latest services! But more on that in another post.
This post is gonna be all about the event.
They gave me a name tag! … I didn’t wear it though. I shoved it in my jacket’s pocket and started snapping photos as soon as I got there. I will probably stick this in my journal… or planner.
A welcome poster for all the guest stood on an easel next to the registration booth. It’s so PinkBox and so Verniece Enciso! Even if they did misspell her name, this girl is one of the most familiar and well-loved personas in the local fashion blogging scene. It’s so hard not to notice that Verniece radiates a very girly and princess-y vibe to her; it’s evident in almost all of her outfit posts!
Fresh flowers! The event had a pastel color palette to it and of course, fresh flowers as each table’s centerpiece is a must. The flowers were housed in a quaint “white picket fence” basket. Oh and there were cupcakes for every guest!
This picture board shows the many faces of PinkBox: infants, kids, tweens and young adults can all wear something from Pinkbox. Personally, I’m a fan of their basics – the hair ties, clips and the hair donut!
As much as I’d love to be able to wear flowery and frilly headbands ala Verniece, my students would just think I’ve finally lost what sanity I’ve got left. These are pretty to look at but sadly, they’re not for me.
I was running a wee bit late and I was surprised that the venue was already packed with media folks and fellow bloggers; recognized some of the faces in the crowd. If I remember correctly, Verniece also invited a few of her readers too.
Of course, we didn’t go home empty-handed! These polka-dotted wooden baskets are so lovely.
The program began when Tita K (the fab host of Live Love LOLz) and the timeless Ms. Nelly See (the founder of Pinkbox) was called on stage to welcome the bloggers and give everybody a brief insight into the brand’s humble beginnings.
Years back, Ms. Nelly wanted hair accessories for her little girl that did not involve Disney characters (no offence, Disney). So during a trip to China, she came across cute bows, laces, hairbands and the likes. Delighted, she went a touch overboard with purchasing these goodies that she ended up with an entire warehouse full of it. Having too much, she felt the need to share it to other mothers who were also looking for pretty accessories for their little girls.
Thus, Pinkbox. They’ve expanded their business quite well, having a kiosk or a store in well-known local malls and department stores.
Liz Lanuzo is the Brand Manager for PinkBox in addition her blogging over at Project Vanity. Liz talked about the new services and products that they’re planning to release very soon.
Pinkbox is going to undergo renovations. It will still have its signature color, but the interiors will be more timeless and classy so it won’t be mistaken as “a brand that’s purely for kids”.
Of course, the highlight of the event: introducing the pretty Verniece Enciso as PinkBox’s newest brand ambassador!
Verniece is Pinkbox personified; she’s been using her favorites from the brand ever since she was a kid and is often seen (in her outfits posts) wearing atleast one accessory from the brand. She is a pro when it comes to incorporating these favorites into her daily outfits no matter what mood she’s in (girly, chic, colorful, dainty, et al.).
And seeing Verniece in a floaty white dress with a Pinkbox flower headband (turned crown), you could definitely see why the brand chose her to represent them.
The hardworking women behind the event: Ms. Nelly See, Verniece Enciso, Karrots “Tita K” Nazareno and Liz Lanuzo.
Speaking of hardworking, here’s a paparazzi shot of Liz taking care of business after socializing with the guests.
So congrats again to Pinkbox and Verniece for holding such a successful event! You can judge from the chatter that everybody enjoyed themselves.
Will be talking about the new products and services that Pinkbox is rolling out in the coming months, in another post.
