After much (not-t’was a given, really) deliberation, I finally gave Ralston (NINE) a cookie and a place in my iPhone’s kindle after tossing aside TEN because I’ve had enough of it. Dear Nick St. John, I really appreciate you putting up a good fight but your partner in TEN bored the hell out of me.

And one does (and should) not keep Neil Gaiman sitting on the shelf for too long.

Everybody is, at one point, guilty of shelling out cash on unplanned purchases whether it is at a bazaar or a sale. And often, the satisfaction of an impulse buy doesn’t last long. In fact, it can even be a cause of guilt or a nagging feeling when looking at the object in a new perspective, particularly when the shopping haze has cleared.

If one doesn’t curb the bad habit of impulse buying, a list of debts, credit card bills, empty accounts and wallets can really put a damper on one’s mood. Impulse buying isn’t incurable; it takes a bit of practice to perfect one’s self-control.

Summer Reads 2013

While everybody else is braving the heat at a beach somewhere, I’m currently holed up inside my house, trying to avoid the sun as much as possible. Ironically enough, I also wanted to avoid the gaggle of relatives who are also staying in for the Holy Week break so I set up my own little Do-Not-Disturb-Ate nook in the corner of our living room with a pile of books, a tall tumbler of water, a fan and two dogs sleeping at my feet.
